With a Kevlar reinforced nylon puncture protection breaker it is even more reliable without losing its terrific rolling qualities. Its flexible casing and the anti-skidding rubber mixture keeps the contact even in fast 90 degree bends. With its low weight and neutral slick-profile, it is most definitely the fastest tire on the last 400 meters.
BlackChili Compound
This unique tread rubber mixture which is only produced in Continental German factory has revolutionized bicycle tyres. The resultant compound showed a new relationship between grip and rolling resistance. This "Elevated level", as it was previously known, was given the name "BlackChili". The latest polymers, nanoscale soot particles and optimized fillers all guarantee a unique performance, from downhill MTB tyres to the time trial tyres of the ProTour, they are second to none in their respective areas. BlackChili Compound improves rolling resistance by 26% and provides 30% more grip than activated silica compounds. Premium tyres with BlackChili Compound also impress with higher mileage and unlike many multi-compounds, provide a constant ride from the first to the last kilometer.
SafetySystem Breaker: The SafetySystem Puncture Protection is made of a strong and tight Nylon fabrid. This fabric is additionally reinforced with Kevlar®. The result is a tire construction that is highly resistant against pinches and cuts. The SafetySystem protects the tire against debris, thorns and broken glass. The SafetySystem keeps the tire lightweight and flexible. It adapts to the rolling motion and keeps the rolling resistance low. The SafetySystem is build in between the tread and the casing. Here it protects the casing fabric and contributes to a long lifespan of the tire.
