Vectran ™ is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Spider silk as well as Vectran ™ are extremely tear-resistant and extremely lightweight. Exactly the right properties to be used as a puncture protection insert in a top Continental tire. A Vectran ™ Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectran ™ Breaker does not affect the rolling resistance.
